how do you like them blossoms?

i have this aunt. aunt jo is funny, spicy and sassy, much like her sister and their mother. we will plan a trip to disneyland with her next winter, because even though her children are grown, she still feels the magic. unlike ripp, who refuses to get sucked in by the magic. she loves to torture us all winter long with pictures of the beautiful flowers blooming in her lovely yard. she is in california, which is just another slap in the face when i am buried in snow. i specifically remember the tulip bulbs she sent about a month and a half ago, sprouting inches out of the ground.

this morning i find this in my inbox...

oh...and she is waiting for the Orioles, "as you can see in the background."

little did she know, we have found a little spring of our own...and we can have our cherry blossoms inside.
