hello 2012
i just spent 10 minutes, crouched below my familyroom window, peaking out through the lowest shutters, watching deer in the fields around our house. it was a calm way to start my first monday of the new year. the rest of the house was still dark and quiet, so i enjoyed these moments all to myself. i can thank rose for those peaceful moments. if not for her, i would have never wondered what had her complete attention and held her so very still . i do still marvel at the simplicity of the animals that i share this life with. i miss them dearly when they are no longer here, but i know that one of the reasons i do so much is for the way they can bring me down from a chaotic state and ground me when i need it most.
the last quarter of 2011 was a crazy one for many reasons, full of all the usual suspects and a few new faces. i'm really quite happy to put it behind me and am looking forward to what 2012 has to offer.
