texas on my mind

we have returned and recovered from our 10 day stay in the lone star state. with the entire state under a burn ban and the temperatures hovering near 100, what water was available was where we were at.
the frio river, a hot spot for tubing, was extremely low but we made due with a rope swing, water guns, tadpole catching and hanging with friends.
e and her cousin acted as though it hasn't been a year and a half between visits, attached at the hip for the majority of their time together. they reunite again in a couple weeks back in texas for a week at nana's house for 'girls camp'.

carlsbad caverns in new mexico was about 3500 times cooler than i thought it was going to be and well worth the trek in and out. it had the ability to make me feel like my existence here is just a blip on the radar. a very small blip on a very large radar.

my kids who can make something out of almost anything and have endless energy when it comes to play.
the midland/odessa airport...and all 5 of its terminals. it put a smile on my face both coming and going. this picture is taken from one end of the airport looking toward the other. it is seriously that small and cute.
happy july!
