anyone who knows ripp, knows that he is a sarcastic pain-in-the-neck. a bit of a practical joker-if you know shelli, ask about the joke played on her husband. it is priceless, but only if you get her laugh filled version. he is also a good guy, with an overly tender heart.
well...payback can be a bugger.
at our annual work party up the canyon this weekend-complete with games, bbq, prizes and horseback rides-ripp was given the ultimate prize:
in the form of a miniature donkey. commonly referred to as a burro, although this isn't exactly accurate. i know this because for the past 4 days, we have quickly become experts as we research whether or not we should accept what is already ours.
do we have the room? yes.
what about our extreme temperature changes? fine, need shelter.
will our neighbors shun us? possibly.
does the city even allow? working on it.
how long do they live? 30-50 years!!!!!
are they prone to depression? yes, need to get goat as company.
so we are still unsure.
what we do know:
he is damn cute.
it would be great for the kids.
we could give it a real good life for many years.
it still has 4-6 weeks before weaned from his mama.
we would be thrown into the mini farm we have somewhat desired.
but mostly, we know that this guy is already smitten.
i'll keep you posted.
