it is still very weird to think that in about one month, i am going to peacefully (fingers crossed) transition from being a life-long utah to a rookie texan. although we truly have talked of making this move for years, no one (myself included) believed the talk. however, all signs these days are pointing southeast. we have sold our home, said good-bye to chickens, packed boxes and scheduled the movers, finished up a final season with e's beloved soccer team and enjoyed a season with the pill's, hosted a garage sale, told the school we are not returning next year (that sucked), and are in the process of purchasing a home in houston.
it has been a long and gradual process and for that i am very grateful for. i couldn't imagine squeezing 6 months down in to just a couple. i have needed the time to process each step of this transition and am hoping that when all is said and done, we will be better adjusted for it. and i remind myself that having family and friends already in place just sweetens the deal. mild winters and the ocean helps too.
