top of the world

a couple of weeks ago, some good friends of ours dragged us from a weekend afternoon of lounging to go for a snowmobile tour up the canyon above our home.  less than two hours later, we were standing on top of mt. logan with breath-taking views in all directions.  i have spent my entire life here and have never stood in this spot-where you can look out towards wyoming, the uintah mtn range, and the canyons that make up park city and salt lake city.  it was a wonderful afternoon with friends and a chance to savor the landscape that i take so for granted.
we made it!  i learned how un-relaxing snowmobiling can be.  the machines are big, heavy and don't like to turn.
this is what happens when the passenger (me), who sits in front of the driver, accidentally grabs the throttle mid turn and detours over a pine tree.

what i look like the next day when, against my better judgement, i succumbed to tim's pressure and jump on with him for a hill climb. chin+handlebars=ripp laughing at me for two days.

thanks tim and michelle
